Book ahead . No.23 is the fourth house on the right, a white house standing back from the road.
I’ve come to a decision to do everything in my power to combat climate change. So far this has included Renault Zoe electric car, air source heat pump and solar panels, installed with help from the Green Homes Grant (loan repayable in instalments). A better insulated home (which is a requirement of the heat pump) has entailed installing new windows, plus replacement of an old oil-fired boiler. I also have battery-powered mower and tools.
I’ve made a complete move away from petrol and oil. I hope to augment this by ceasing to make long distance flights. I have a home charger for the electric car, using electricity mainly from my solar panels : a car trip of 200 miles could cost nothing if charged from the Sun, or as little as £4 if charged at night from the mains. In the near future I hope to get a battery to store energy from the panels.
I now do jobs that have a heavy electricity demand, such as my washing, in the middle of a sunny day to take advantage of solar power.
Visitors will see my heat pump, cylinder, new compatible radiators and the electric car and tools.
