Not open this year, but we hope that will be more to see on a visit next year. If you are visiting the Abbey it might be worth asking around about the heat pumps and other energy improvements.

There are six air-source heat pumps on the roof of Bishop Roger‘s Chapel. They are housed in acoustic cabinets. This is because the pumps could be running 24/7 and without the acoustic cabinets might have disturbed the boys in the school behind the Abbey. There is nothing to see from ground-level outside and only incomplete pipe-work visible inside.
