 T Tamera Bowler says:

" I have a degree in Ecology and Conservation from Birkbeck College London, and have worked as an environmental tutor and in outdoor activity with city children.  I am the second private owner of this former Council house built in 1954.

"Since I bought it in 2012, I have added a kitchen, two bedrooms, porch, utility room and yoga room, the latter with a triple-glazed roof light.  All the extensions are double glazed and well insulated.  I have installed solar panels on the south, east and west facing sections of the roof, and recently added a battery so that I can use my own solar electricity for longer periods.  I receive FIT payments from energy company Octopus, which sells only renewable energy and which I recommend for good service.

"My main use of electricity, for washing etc. is during the day in order to ensure that I use my  own solar energy.  My total energy bills have fallen markedly since the installation of the panels and battery, and I now spend about £45 a month for gas and electricity.  When I can afford it, I would like to install a ground-source heat pump and underfloor heating.  I run my garden in organic mode, with plants chosen to encourage insects, and the garden is rich in bees and butterflies. "

Visitors will have access to the garden, and with masks and use of sanitisers to the ground floor of the house.  Disabled visitors will be welcome in the garden, but access to the house involves using steps

To find  the house - from the north-east corner of The Square in the centre of Beaminster, drive up North Street for 300 yards and find on the right Gerrards Green.  Number 101 is the first house on the left, with a blue porch.  Car parking available on the street
