17 A East Hill (located with its sister house,17B) is a contemporary detached house in a secluded garden setting completed in 2019. Designed and built by architect Roger Stretton as a home for himself and his wife Angie, the house has been constructed using a structural insulated panel system (SIPS) for the walls and structural insulated cassette panels for the roof. This form of construction gives high levels of air-tightness and thermal insulation.

The external finishes are modified lime render to the walls and a zinc roof with solar control double glazed windows to the south and triple glazed windows to the north.

An air source heat pump provides both heating (via an underfloor heating system) and domestic hot water and a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery ensures good levels of ventilation throughout the house without wasting heat.

Photovoltaic panels are mounted horizontally on the car port roof to reduce their visual impact.

There is limited parking on site and in East Hill lane - please park sensibly!
