Other

1960s detached bungalow, with solar hot water for over 10 years and PV panels for 5 years plus. We installed cavity wall insulation when we moved in 15 years ago.

Early in 2021 an air source heat pump replaced the 28-year-old gas boiler, with iBoost to make the most of any excess generation by PV panels. It worked well in its first winter months.

We have an allotment (3 mins walk away) for vegetables. We don't own a car and our transport centres around two-wheelers: bicycles, electric bicycles (with trailer) and electric motorcycle. We have an electric vehicle charging point.

We do have a petrol motorcycle, but that gives 90-100mpg.
